A Brief Study on the Prevalence of Malaria in Kolkata, West Bengal, India

Objectives: Malaria has been a major public health problem in India, with cases therein contributing significantly to the overall malaria burden within South East Asia. Majority of India have occurred eastern and central regions country. Over 80% country’s total reported from 10states. Statistics for state West Bengal had approximately 26,000 25,000 2014 2018, respectively, Kolkata still being considered most malaria-prone district Bengal. Methods: A cross-sectional study was designed based on data collected Municipal Corporation documents Taltala area residents during winter. Collected included age, sex, category, medicine intake history, others. Outcomes following medication, such as chloroquine tablets, artemisinin-based combination therapies, primaquine, were also assessed.
